At Advanced Urgent Care, we are always thinking of new ways to support our local community with affordable, quality healthcare.
That's why we are pleased to introduce the new Advanced Aesthetic Care in Key Largo and Marathon. Jami Horvat, APRN leads the team of licensed clinicians who will utilize the latest tools in beauty and aesthetic care to assist patients in achieving their appearance goals. From weight loss to botox, dermal fillers to PRP, we are excited to now help not only your inside at Advanced Urgent Care, but your outside too. Check out the new Aesthetics and Beauty page for more information on these services. According to American Cancer Society data, 2 million new cases of cancer and over 600,000 cancer related deaths are projected for 2024. With the increasing incidence of lung, colorectal, brain, and pancreatic cancers, Florida is predicted to have the second highest death rate in the nation.
Early onset cancers in people under 50 years of age has increased globally by an astonishing 79%, which dramatically shifts the demographics of the cancer patient away from the elderly, and toward middle and younger age groups – making early diagnosis critical. This increased incidence of cancer, coupled with the essential need for early detection, has led Advanced Urgent Care to develop a new program for early cancer screening. It incorporates a dual imaging approach using CT and MRI – both of which are accessible and affordable through Advanced Urgent Care. After initial consultation, patients will be scheduled for the following diagnostic scans:
Once testing is complete, patients will have their scans reviewed and analyzed by the physician. Results and potential next steps will be discussed with the patient. Acknowledging the critical importance of early cancer screening, and the prohibitive costs of local, competitive providers, Advanced Urgent Care is thrilled to offer this package for a cash price of $2000. This unique program is not covered by insurance. To learn more about this program, please visit the Cancer Screening page. At Advanced Urgent Care, we listen to our patients and the community's needs. That's why we are consistently reinvesting in Monroe County by offering new healthcare services across our three centers. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Advanced Urgent Care is pleased to finally offer Breast MRI services at our Marathon location.
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women, but can occur in men as well. Routine check ups are recommended for women – particularly as they age. WHAT ARE THE RISK FACTORS?
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?
Any new lump in the breast should be taken seriously and screened by a physician. HOW CAN I PREVENT BREAST CANCER? Breast cancer is likely a combination of genetic and environmental factors. 5-10% of women who acquire breast cancer have mutations of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. Other women have several contributing risk factors, while some women have none. Therefore, the best approach for preventing breast cancer is simply to pay attention to your family history, lifestyle, and changes in your breasts and body:
HOW CAN ADVANCED URGENT CARE SUPPORT ME? At Advanced Urgent Care, our doctors can assist you in diagnosing a potential case of breast cancer. While any combination of tests may be required after examination, our standard protocol might involve:
Depending upon the findings, a treatment plan or referral to a specialist may be recommended. Note: If your primary care or referring physician has requested a CT Scan, Ultrasound, MRI, or bloodwork, please call us at 305-294-0011 to schedule your appointment. JUST REMEMBER... Breast cancer is a very common disease, and there are more treatments available now than ever before. While some procedures to eliminate the cancer are more severe than others, only you can make the decision on what's best for you and your body (after considering professional advice). Throughout the process, please remember to stay calm, find community, and know that you are far from alone. We are here for you. For more information, please visit: www.breastcancer.org Dear Patients,
We are now contracted with Aetna for our MRI in Marathon. This is exciting news. Since MRI is a new service, it takes some time for the insurance companies to catch on. Advanced Urgent Care can accept Aetna, Florida Blue, Medicare, and Worker's Comp for MRI, and we also have affordable cash pricing. Additional insurance companies will be added soon. Thank you! |
