Cancer Screenings at Advanced Urgent Care
Early Detection Cancer Screening Program
According to the American Cancer Society, two million new cases of cancer and over 600,000 cancer deaths are projected in 2024. This stunning increase in cancer, particularly in patients under 50, demands further early detection opportunities.
At Advanced Urgent Care, we are leading the charge in early detection by creating a new Early Detection Cancer Screening Program. This unique medical program combines our MRI and CT scan capabilities to provide patients with a cost-effective screening for some of the world's most common cancers.
Please note that the Early Detection Cancer Screening Program is not a full body, comprehensive cancer screening. Only the scans listed below will provide an opportunity for early detection. Other cancers such as leukemia will not be discoverable.

How does the program work?
Patients are first scheduled for an initial consultation with one of our Advanced Urgent Care physicians. After a history and intake review, patients may be scheduled for the full diagnostic screening series.
Once scheduled, patients will be required to have their CT scans performed in either Key West or Key Largo, and their MRI scans performed in Marathon. Reserving a minimum of two days for scanning is highly encouraged.
Once all tests have been conducted, the scans will be analyzed by the physician. A follow up consultation will be scheduled to discuss the patients' results and next steps.

For Lung Cancer Screenings, a low-dose CT scan is used to create pictures of the lungs in order to assess the patient's risk of lung cancer.
Screenings are especially useful for current smokers over the age of 55, or those who have a history of heavy smoking and quit within the last 15 years. (Note: Heavy smoking is defined as a pack a day for 30 + years or an equivalent number).
